Some things to do before your move (please let me know if you have others)

People you need to notify:

• TV licence & DVLA
• electricity, gas & water companies
• telephone & internet provider
• doctor, dentist
• bank, building society and other savings and investment companies
• insurance companies
• credit companies
• re-register 'chipped' pets

· friends and relatives, etc.

Clear out cupboards and lofts, so as not to move unnecessary items

Clear out sheds and garages; put items together so not forgotten

Take down curtains and blinds that you are taking

Run down freezer contents and other supplies

Find and label keys

Arrange for children and pets to be looked after on the day of the move

Produce map for friends and relatives where required

Organise parking at current and new property

Arrange tea, coffee and food for first meals at the new property

Arrange for redirection of post

Cancel milk and newspapers

Plan rooms for items being moved, mark boxes

Put children's favourite toy where you will not miss and will know where they are

Put small valuables, jewellery and trinkets together
